Heart of Hospice

The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen, not touched, but are felt in the heart.” - Helen Keller

Heart to Heart activities are done outside the normal services covered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. They are part of our mission to help ease patients through a difficult life transition while living life to its fullest.

Violet and Jay are a couple who are both in the Heart of Hospice program. For their 62nd wedding anniversary the Heart of Hospice Foundation hosted their anniversary dinner. Lynette Scribner pulled out her grandmother’s china and the team came up with white roses and linen tablecloths. Jodi Goatcher contacted the daughter and found out what their favorite meal was, then went to the Mesquitery and ordered two New York steak dinners. A local bakery designed a small cake to look like a wedding cake topper. The team showed up at their home, set the table, served the anniversary dinner and left the couple alone together. They returned later to clean up.
